This is for my family and friends to see how I am doing once I arrive in Japan. I am heading to Kansai Gaidai University in Hirataka, Osaka, Japan for the Spring 2009. My goal is to document a part of my life once every week. Maybe teach you all a little Japanese.
Right now I'm procrastinating because I'm nearing finals week. I'm in my last week of the semester of my junior year. I still have a Medical Ethics paper I must write and a reaction paper for Globalization and World Order.
I just bought a plane ticket to Osaka. Next is to email Kansai Gaidai about my housing choices (Homestay!) and flight plans. Tell Study Abroad about flight plans too. Pay Tuition and cry because I'm poor.

- I spend more than half of day in front of a computer: learning Japanese, playing RPGs (currently playing Suikoden 2), watching comedy TV shows (like 30 Rock), browsing PBS shows (Independent Lens, Global Voices, Frontline, History Detectives), teaching myself how to cook, testing the limits of my concentration by reading great writing on Arts & Letters daily and keeping up with the national news and politics through NPR and my favorite TV people Rachel Maddow, Jon Stewart, and Stephen Colbert.
